Combined electrotherapy and ultrasound device.
Electrotherapy information:
In physiotherapy, electrotherapy applications are used to stimulate denervated muscles and thereby reduce the hypotrophy caused by muscle inactivity. Electrotherapy can also maintain the muscle trophism of denervated or partially innervated muscles. Of course, normally innervated muscles can also be trained with EMS applications.
The electrical current exerts motor, thermal, analgesic, chemical, and trophic effects on body tissue. The Combimed 2200 offers a total of 26 different low- and medium-frequency waveforms, which the user can use either on one or two channels, independently or synchronously.
The exponential current is suitable, for example, for peripheral paralysis and can delay/prevent atrophy after a nerve lesion.
Ultrasound Therapy Information
Electrotherapy alone can be used very effectively as a form of therapy for pain relief. However, ultrasound applications offer an effective complement. Therefore, EME Physio has combined both therapy forms in one device, the Combimed 2200, with ultrasound being used primarily for pain relief.
The most important applications of ultrasound therapy include treatments for neuritis, sciatica, and periarthritis. The special effects triggered by ultrasound (the treated tissue is vibrated, generating thermal and mechanical effects) produce massage-like effects with a warming effect.
The Combimed 2200 features a 1/3 MHz multi-frequency treatment head, allowing the user to adjust the depth of tissue penetration for each treatment. At 1 MHz, tissue penetration can reach a depth of up to 3 cm, while the 3 MHz frequency allows for a penetration depth of 1 cm.
Electrotherapy and ultrasound combination treatment
Combined treatments can be performed quickly and easily with the preset programs of the Combimed 2200. These programs utilize the analgesic and hyperemic effects of electrotherapy in combination with the thermal and mechanical effects of ultrasound.
