With the IPP electrode, in combination with a suitable EMS device, an iontophoresis application can be carried out for Induration Penis Plastica / Peyronie's disease.
This condition, which most commonly affects men over 50, causes a curvature of the erect penis, which can lead to problems during intercourse and pain. With the help of the IPP electrode, special medications can be delivered into the penile tissue with the aid of iontophoresis.
To do this, the IPP electrode is moistened with water and then the medication is applied. The electrode is then placed around the penis and the Velcro fastener is closed. Now it all depends on the polarity of the medication used. Below is a brief guide for the different polarities:
• Positive polarity of the medication: attach the red clip to the IPP electrode.
• Negative polarity of the medication: attach the black clip to the IPP electrode.
• Bipolar medication: connect the red or black clip to the IPP electrode.
If the corresponding clip is connected to the electrode cable of an iontophoresis device , an iontophoresis program with a low frequency and low current should be used to begin with.
The treatment time for the first few sessions should be 10-15 minutes. For IPP therapy, the intensity is selected so that the patient only feels a slight pinprick sensation.
Before starting therapy with the IPP electrode, you should always consult your doctor to obtain more specific information about the individual treatment duration and the medication to be used.
Warning
• The IPP electrode is not packaged sterile.
• Only original parts from the manufacturer should be used, as they must be tailored to the treatment. Only use electrostimulation devices compatible with iontophoresis, such as the I-Tech Physio 2CH .
• Only carry out the IPP treatment with the electrode if the skin is intact!
