The POWERbreathe K4 is an electronic training system that utilizes patented auto-optimising IMT technology. This technology allows the device to automatically adapt to the strength and capacity of the user's breathing muscles. With up to 10 user profiles and 1,200 stored sessions per user, the K4 is ideal for sports teams, coaches, and individuals. The device provides a detailed overview of key biofeedback markers such as load (cmH₂O), power (watts), volume (litres), flow (litres/second), and energy (joules). The Breathe-Link basic software allows for graphical progress viewing and real-time monitoring of training.

Technical Specifications

The Breathe-Link software is compatible with macOS up to and including Mac OS Sonoma 14.XX as well as with Windows-based PCs (not compatible with Windows 10 S).

Contraindications

Inspiratory muscle training with the POWERbreathe K4 should not be performed in certain cases. Please note the following contraindications:

• Patients with recent abdominal surgery or abdominal hernia
• Asthma patients with low symptom awareness and frequent severe exacerbations
• Patients with a ruptured eardrum or other ear conditions
• Patients with elevated left ventricular end-diastolic volume and pressure
• Patients with worsening heart failure symptoms after inspiratory muscle training
• Common cold, sinusitis, or respiratory tract infections
