The StimVet 200 by Globus Italia is a professional EMS device for electrical muscle stimulation and pain relief in small animals. Thanks to its compact design and integrated rechargeable battery, EMS treatment can be performed in any situation.

In total, the StimVet 200 features 50 different stimulation programs, divided into programs for EMS / TENS / Sports / Microcurrent. One important area of application is pain therapy for a wide range of pain conditions. Various mechanisms promote the analgesic effect of electrotherapy. These include membrane hyperpolarization, the control gate theory, local hyperemia, and the release of morphine-like mediators.

Stimulation effect: Muscle contraction can be promoted by the application of electrical current, as the current acts on both the motor neuron and the muscle. The interaction between electrical stimulation and the biological tissue affected by the current is a highly complex phenomenon. EMS applications are also an important therapeutic measure in veterinary medicine, which must be performed depending on the functional conditions of the muscle (innervated, denervated, or partially denervated muscle) and the therapeutic goal to be achieved.

Indications for TENS Applications

 - Acute Pain: postoperative pain, tendonitis, tenosynovitis.
 - Chronic Pain: osteoarthritis, back pain, muscle pain.

Elektrotherapie in der Veterinärmedizin - Gegenanzeigen und Sicherheitshinweise

Keine Anwendung bei sedierten Tieren

Das Gerät darf nicht bei sedierten Tieren eingesetzt werden. Die Intensität wird anhand der Reaktion des Tieres eingestellt nur ein waches Tier zeigt durch sichtbares Unwohlsein an, dass die Stimulation zu stark ist.

Nicht anwenden bei:

  • Tieren mit Herzschrittmacher oder anderen implantierten elektronischen Geräten
  • Herzrhythmusstörungen
  • Trächtigkeit
  • Schmerzen mit unbekannter Ätiologie
  • Wunden, Hautläsionen und dermatologischen Erkrankungen
  • akuten Traumata
  • frischen Narben
  • Tumorerkrankungen
  • akuten Infektionen und Fieberzuständen
  • Epilepsie
  • Venenthrombose und Thrombophlebitis
  • Welpen, Kätzchen und Fohlen

Nicht auf folgenden Arealen anwenden:

  • vordere Halsregion (Karotissinus)
  • Kopfund Gehirnregion
  • Augenbereich: Die Anwendung des Elektrostimulators am Auge ist strengstens verboten.
  • transthorakal, das heißt nicht gleichzeitig auf Brust und Rücken. Durch Überlagerung der Gerätefrequenz mit der Herzfrequenz können Herzrhythmusstörungen ausgelöst werden.

Besondere Vorsicht bei:

  • Kapillarbrüchigkeit: Eine übermäßige Stimulation kann Kapillarrisse verstärken.
  • Arealen mit herabgesetztem Empfindungsvermögen oder neurologischen Ausfällen

Sicherheitshinweise für die Anwendung:

  • Das Fell an den Elektrodenstellen scheren, damit ein sicherer Hautkontakt entsteht. Unzureichender Kontakt führt zu punktuellen Stromdichten und damit zu Hautreizungen.
  • Elektroden nur auf saubere, trockene und unverletzte Haut aufbringen.
  • Die Intensität stets langsam steigern und das Tier dabei beobachten. Die Stimulation soll deutlich spürbar, aber nie schmerzhaft sein.
  • Nicht in nasser Umgebung anwenden.
  • Das Tier während der Behandlung nicht unbeaufsichtigt lassen.

Bei bestehenden Erkrankungen, Implantaten oder Trächtigkeit halten Sie vor der ersten Anwendung bitte Rücksprache mit Ihrer Tierärztin oder Ihrem Tierarzt. Beachten Sie zusätzlich die Gegenanzeigen in der Gebrauchsanweisung des jeweiligen Geräts.
