With the HR TEK, EME-Physio can satisfy even the most demanding clients. The HR TEK is the first choice for large rehabilitation clinics and physiotherapy practices, as well as for the sports medicine departments of premier sports clubs. It is an innovative therapy device that uses diathermy (also known as TECAR therapy) as a therapeutic procedure. Operation is intuitive. The large, high-resolution 10.1" touchscreen allows you to select programs based on the specific body part. There are dedicated programs with preset values for each pathology. Up to 200 programs can be stored internally in the device.

Diathermy is a high-frequency technique that can be used to transfer endothermic energy in capacitive and resistive modes. The heat generated within the body can positively influence biological structures such as muscles, joints, and tendons. Furthermore, the body's natural anti-inflammatory and reparative processes can be stimulated.

Through the interaction of electromagnetic energy and the body's own self-healing powers, diathermy can achieve a uniform and controlled increase in temperature within the tissue.

How does diathermy work?

The HR TEK diathermy device consists of a generator that transmits alternating current into an application circuit consisting of two electrodes. The electrodes are attached to the patient's body, which then becomes part of the electrical circuit.

Different types of electrodes are used in diathermy:

1. Capacitive electrodes: The transmission occurs through a capacitive electrode shielded with ceramic insulating material. Depending on the body part being treated, different sized electrodes are used. The electrodes mobilize charges (ions) in the lower tissue layers.

2. Resistive electrodes: With this type, the charge is transferred to the tissue via a resistive, non-insulated electrode. This electrode variant allows for treatment of deeper, more resistant areas (bone and deep muscles).

Both variants have one thing in common: With HR TEK, diathermy can be used to increase the temperature in the tissue. Combined with the indirectly increased oxygen demand of the treated tissue, this can lead to increased blood flow.

All electrodes can be equipped with an innovative insulation system that blocks the transmission of electromagnetic waves to the operator.

Diathermy can stimulate tissue renewal and the immune system.

Main applications of diathermy

• Sports medicine
• Aesthetic medicine
• Skin diseases
• Traumatology
• Pain in the musculoskeletal system
• Inflammation of the tendons and joints
• Periarticular diseases (bursitis, calcifications, etc.)

With HR TEK, two different techniques are possible depending on the type of pathology:

1. Capacitive mode: Here, the greatest effect is concentrated on the area under the movable electrode. Capacitive technology is primarily used for areas of the body with high water content, such as muscles, the venous-lymphatic system, etc.

Optimal results are achieved in capacitive mode for the following pathologies:
• Follow-up treatment after fractures
• Joint diseases and peri-articular diseases
• Post-traumatic drainage of edema

2. Resistive mode: This mode is used for tissue with low water content and higher resistance. A biological effect is seen in tissue located between the movable electrode and the counterplate, such as bones, joints, tendons, ligaments, and cartilage.
Optimal results are achieved in resistive mode for the following pathologies:
• General Traumatology
• Sports traumatology
• Arthritis
• Osteoarthritis
• Tendonitis
• Capsulitis and bursitis
• Heel spur syndrome
