Fascia treatment in combination with diathermy.
Before we go into more detail about the fascia tool set, a few general comments on instrument-assisted fascia therapy, or IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization) for short.
Fascia acts as a buffer between the individual tissue layers. With the help of the fascia, these layers can glide past each other easily and without much friction. However, if these fascia become stuck together, flexibility can be restricted. The result is restricted movement and pain.
Instrument-assisted fascia therapy is intended to restore these muscles' natural mobility. Hardening can be effectively relieved. A positive side effect for the therapist is that the joints are protected, as the necessary pressure is applied with the appropriate fascia tool, rather than with the hands or fingers.
The Globus Fascia Tool Set now also makes it possible to combine instrument-assisted fascia therapy with diathermy / TECAR therapy.
How does fascia treatment with the tools work in combination with diathermy?
Globus Diacare technology allows for tissue preparation prior to instrumental mobilization with fascia tools. This can increase oxygenation and vascularization while reducing viscosity.
This is because the hyaluronic acid chains are broken down by increasing the temperature. Within a few seconds, the connective tissue is ready for instrumental mobilization.
This makes it possible to combine both the delivery of the therapeutic current through the diathermy device and the manual remodeling of the tissue with the fascia tools.
Results
Elimination of fascial restrictions and fibrotic adhesions
Increase flexibility and range of motion (ROM)
Pain reduction
Reduction of muscle stiffness
Improve blood circulation
Improve muscle recruitment
Improvement of motor skills
Advantages of fascial treatment in combination with diathermy
Less pain
Increasing the effectiveness of treatment
Less therapist fatigue
Reduction of the appearance of petechiae
Stimulation of tissue regeneration
The Globus fascia tools are made of anodized aluminum. This makes them extremely durable, resistant to wear and tear, and they also resist deformation. They are securely packaged in the accompanying aluminum case and can also be used on the go outside of the practice.
EQUIPMENT: The fascia tool set consists of four individual handpieces (Dia Spine, Dia Trigger, DiaBlade small, DiaBlade large) for performing various manual treatments. The exact specifications can be found under the "Technical Specifications" tab.
CONNECTIONS : The fascia tools work on the same principle as the resistive handpiece. Therefore, the connection must be made via the resistive and neutral outputs on the DiaCare devices.
1) To connect the fascia tools to the device, use the blue cable of the freehand set that is included with the Diacare 7000.
2) Connect the neutral plate supplied with the DiaCare 7000. Once the connections are made, the fascia tool kit is ready for use.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE: Before using the fascia tool set, it should be checked for damage, as damage to the tools could cause skin injuries to the patient.
The "Fascia" program on the DiaCare 7000 can be used with a maximum power of 50 watts. This is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of patients and therapists.
Before use, it is important that the therapist wear nitrile gloves to insulate the device. The energy transfer during use of the fascia tools requires continuous monitoring by the therapist.
Before starting the application, an RF cream must be applied to the treatment area and the electrode before contact with the patient's skin. The power should be gradually increased to 15 to 20%, and the patient should be asked for thermal feedback.
The respective fascia tool should be tilted at approximately 20° and remain in contact with the skin at all times. Application involves applying pressure in a cranial-caudal direction and vice versa. During the boost phase, less pressure is applied and only in one direction, but contact is always maintained.
In the second phase of treatment, once the muscle hardening has been localized, the tool can be tilted more, creating a more tangential force and making it possible to work on smaller, hardened areas.
Currently the fascia tool set is only compatible with the DiaCare 7000.
