High-quality ultrasound therapy device with dose calculation
In physiotherapy, therapeutic ultrasound is used with great success for a wide variety of conditions. This includes acute and subacute traumatic and inflammatory conditions. Physiotherapists also use therapeutic ultrasound to treat chronic rheumatic and arthritic conditions, scars, and excessively fibrous tissue. The Primo Therasonic 460 ultrasound device can also be used for pain management.
The manufacturer has developed the device for the treatment of a wide range of symptoms. The predefined programs cover the most common conditions. The ultrasound applications are intended to reduce the healing time of soft tissue injuries; evidence-based algorithms and clinical protocols are available.
Physiotherapists can also use the ultrasound therapy device for phonophoresis—the introduction of medication through the skin using ultrasound. Some medications are absorbed very slowly through the skin; phonophoresis can assist this process.
Ultrasound dose calculation

A very interesting feature, available only in very few ultrasound therapy devices, is the option to calculate the ultrasound dose to be delivered in a single treatment session. After entering parameters such as lesion depth, tissue status, and the size of the treatment area, the device calculates the maximum dose to be delivered.
Once the maximum value is reached, the device automatically stops the ultrasound treatment. (The display can be set to German.)
Combination therapy ultrasound / electrotherapy
For a combined therapy of ultrasound and electrotherapy, the Therasonic 460 and the Primo Therasonic 360 can be connected to the Primo Multidyne 970 electrotherapy device .
An electrode of the desired size is attached next to the treatment area and connected to one of the electrotherapy device's two-way cable outputs. One end of the combination therapy cable is connected to the dedicated input for the electrotherapy device on the front of the Therasonic 460, and the other end is connected to the second, still available output on the EMS device's two-way cable.
