Diathermy (also known as TECAR therapy or high-frequency thermotherapy ) provides physiotherapists with an extremely effective form of heat therapy. The endogenous heat produced by the devices can be used for all forms of trauma and pathologies of the musculoskeletal system.

The high-frequency sinusoidal currents (400-1200 kHz) generate endogenous heat in the tissue, which produces astonishing effects. Although heat applications have long been used in physiotherapy, these heat therapies are not comparable to diathermy.
