SHOCKWAVE 2000 - Med Line

The SHOCKWAVE 2000 - Med Line from Globus is a modern radial shockwave therapy system that applies high-energy acoustic pulses to promote the body's natural healing process . The method is non-invasive and exerts controlled mechanical pressure on the target tissue with the goal of reducing inflammation , modulating pain , and supporting tissue regeneration .

Mechanism of action

By inducing mechanotransduction , radial pressure waves stimulate, among other things, neoangiogenesis (capillary sprouting), modulate pro- and anti-inflammatory signaling pathways, and can desensitize myofascial trigger points . Clinically, this results in an improvement of tendinopathies , fascial dysfunctions , and musculoskeletal pain syndromes.

Indications & program content (66 MSK programs)

The device includes 66 musculoskeletal programs with anatomy-specific protocols.

Neck / Orofacial

  • Temporomandibular arthritis , trigeminal neuralgia , cervical trigger points (upper/lower part).

shoulder

  • Frozen shoulder , cervicobrachial neuralgia, dorsal scapular nerve entrapment, shoulder pain in hemiplegia, myofascial shoulder syndrome , non-union, rotator cuff calcifications , acute/chronic rotator cuff tendinitis , subacromial impingement , subacromial bursitis , tenosynovitis of the long head of the biceps tendon.

arm / forearm / hand

  • Humeral epitrochlea/epicondyle fractures, epicondylitis , epitrochleitis.
  • Pseudarthrosis of the radius and wrist, carpal tunnel syndrome , cubital tunnel syndrome .
  • Finger arthritis , De Quervain syndrome , Dupuytren contracture , trigger finger .

Back

  • Lumbago , dorsal and lumbar trigger points .

Hip / Pelvis

  • Fracture of the greater trochanter , trochanteric bursitis , pressure ulcer, cancellous edema, prostatitis, aseptic femoral head necrosis , myofascial gluteal syndrome , pubalgia, ischemic femoral necrosis, piriformis syndrome .

Thigh

  • Chronic biceps femoris tendinopathy , iliotibial band syndrome , osteoporosis , quadriceps tendinitis , adductor trigger points.

Knee

  • Femoropatellar syndrome , chronic knee synovitis , delayed fracture healing, pes anserinus bursitis , meniscus injury, myofascial knee syndrome, knee osteoarthritis , patellar tendinopathy .

Lower leg / foot

  • Myofascial calf syndrome, tibial periostitis , tibial stress fracture.
  • Achilles tendon tendinopathy , diabetic foot ulcer , heel spur , metatarsalgia , Morton's neuroma , plantar fasciitis , stress fracture, anterior talofibular ligament injury, deltoid ligament lesion.
